Larry,
I don't know which operating system you're using; I use Windows 7. Other
operating systems probably have similar controls; I don't have a Mac so
can't help you with that. In Windows 7 there is a built-in mixer that is
accessible via the system tray. Once you get into the system tray, arrow
down to "speaker" if you're using Windows 7; press enter; you're on
"open volume mixer." Press enter. Tab around and you'll find separate
volume controls for the microphone and all software that has audio
output of some type. These controls are sliders; usually page-up
increases the volume. When you're done, alt-f4 to exit.
