last I heard it was 10 years, 4 litters (raised on your own premises) and 2 champions from those 4 litters. I suggested to the AKC that anyone who'd bred 4 litters and didn't manage to come up with 2 champions be forbidden not only from judging at all, ever, but also forbidden from ever breeding another litter... I hate to tell y'all this but there ARE judges out there who have never finished a dog from their own breeding.
