At first read I thought your suggestion was a bit out of reach, but I have 
thought about this quite a bit today and after arguing with Sean (LOL!).....I 
think that your idea is something to consider.  However, I think that the GSDCA 
Board would be and should be leary about actually being the ones to start 
and/or monitor this "new" list.   I think that they would be setting themselves 
up for more controversy and I also believe it would be just one more thing on 
the board's plate when they have so much on it already.  Putting a huge 
responsibility like the list on the board, I believe, would cause more 
negativity toward them - which we and they certainly do not need.  
 
The company I work for has, like you say, the "Can-do's" and the "Cannot's", 
the negatives versus the positives.  I used to be a negative - one that always 
was "anti-Corporate" or not happy about something or another.   I have learned 
here that being positive is everything....and negativity is a contageous virus 
that never ends up doing good.  This can be applied to everything in life and 
very much so to our Parent Club and Board.    I just don't want there to be 
another reason for people to bitch and complain about the "board's" list.  
 
  SO - I think that a Private list created and monitored by someone such as 
yourself or another non-board member for Parent Club members is a fantastic 
idea.  That happening  may or may not affect this current list, but like you 
said.....so be it.  Maybe that needs to happen....or maybe both can survive and 
serve it's own unique purpose.   
 
I am not sure if I have given an good answer or response in it's entirety, but 
maybe an idea or two to throw in there.

We can't contain the discussions as far as others repeating what is said.
we can't do it on this List...if there is a major impact..then so be
it..perhaps we need a major impact...On the current List..we can't discuss
the elections..candidates can't let us know their positions on issues
important to their constituents...The new list I have in mind..will allow
for this...we have many who apparently don't know the candidates..yet we
limited what can be discussed on this List..further alienating the people
who would like to know who they are voting for. We have non-members
influencing the outcome of important issues in the GSDCA.. I am sure the
"We can't" will prevail...I already sense it...any thought of progression
in the GSDCA looks to be a lost cause..or is somehow perceived as a threat.
In my world..I can't imagine that anyone thinking that 5.00 a month to help
support our breed is too much...however..in todays world..we need
incentives..it isn't enough unfortunately for people just to want to belong
for the sake of supporting the breed..everyone "wants" something for their
money...I am trying to think of creative ways to give them more bang for
their buck...any input form the "WE CANS..would be appreciated..C.Grainger
