DEAR ERIC,
Translucent means, in laymen's terms, "lets some light through but
doesn't necessarily allow a clear image to be viewed through or transmitted
through...".
                CHEERS!

Nope, my bad. I have Brooklyn school system education:

Opaque \O*paque"\, a. [F., fr. L. opacus. Cf. Opacous.]
     [1913 Webster]
     1. Impervious to the rays of light; not transparent; as, an
        opaque substance.

I thought it meant it let a little light through.
