[pchelpers] Cable modem

I recently ordered Cable Internet Service with a self install Motorola
Modem. It has the options of connecting to the USB hub or the Ethernet Card.
Which would be the best choice? Why?
OS is Windows Millennium Edition Current with all critical patches.
1. I only have two USB hubs and they are both occupied. What do I need to
get to extend these if that is the top choice.
2. I have an unused Ethernet card in my machine, It is a NetGear 10/100 PCI
card. Model FA 311
