Clif, The limit is now £500. I wouldn't mind if it was £500 a year, say, but it is a total of £500 from the whole time you have been registered with them. For me, that is nearly £500 over three years. Money laundering? Sheesh, they have no idea. I have read the money laundering regs, and whilst I don't profess to be fully conversant with them, I cannot imagine how this fits in. I reckon they are using it as an excuse to push people onto DD, which saves them money. As I don't have a bank account that is suitable, I regret they will have to do without my custom. If hat means I use Ebay less, then so be it. Of course, if everyone did the same, I am sure they might reconsider, but few people will bother. We are too accustomed to accepting what we are told to do by all and sundry. I think that it is about £1100.If you have reached your limit this will explain why they have pegged you. What you have to do is become verified. This means that you have to give them your bank details and they then to prove that it is genuine transfer about 12p into it. Once they have transfered the money in, you then contact them on a special site which asks you how much was paid into your account. As you are the only person who knows this, when you fill in the details, this Verifies that you are genuine and Paypal then becomes unlimited. I am on Paypal but just to be on the safe side I run a special Bank Account for it which never has much money in it,so that if some smart alec thinks he is going to clean it out he wont get much.
