President Johnson proved this premise is wrong. They gave it everything they had, napalm, more bombs than in all of WWII, 50,000 of our guys, 3 million of their people, and they still couldn't do it. Even if we did a Dresden-style incineration of Iraq, all we would do is spread the insurgency to other countries and it would grow there. The more we fight, the harder they will fight. We now wage war to our detriment. We need to start the snowball of peace rolling. It's interesting that people who are so infused with love for democracy are so enamored of war as a solution. > [Original Message] > From: Judith Evans <judithevans1@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > To: <lit-ideas@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Date: 10/22/2006 12:55:38 PM > Subject: [lit-ideas] Re: The beginning of the end in Iraq > > > Yeah not a bad idea.
