Ahh - I see. I was just wondering if there was any substantive diff between
the M3 and the M2. Tks!

I agree - I can't see any real difference in feel or viewfinder/rangefinder quality apart from the obvious difference of focal length.

BTW, a friend dropped my M2 and destroyed the rangefinder. I was able to get a brand new M4 rangefinder mechanism installed. Gotta love the parts interchangeability of these cameras ;-)) I guess I've got an M2-4 <LOL>

Is that friend or ex-friend?.... :-) I seem to remember reading somewhere that the M3's r/f is a rather different design, but later models adopted the M2 version - hence the ease of replacing parts. Mind you, my repairman had no difficult in replacing the r/f mirror on ol' 4387, my Leica I upgraded to a III by Wetzlar. Fitted brand-new shutter blinds too...
