Probably nothing, Shel. But I don't have an M2. :-) I have or have owned an M3's, M4, M4-P, M5. I am simply going on what I have owned or was told by respected repair persons. But you are right that contempory M's should be of similiar build quality.

I've an M3 built around the 1,000,000 mark, and an M2 built just a scosh
later (1,002,XXX or so), and I just don't see or feel any difference in
build quality.  Both have recently been overhauled and brought up to spec.
