I can answer that. If you didn't have any viruses, that's just it, your computer was clean. You could run all the major virus checkers on the market and if your computer was free of viruses, then NOD 32 isn't going to give you false positives, meaning that it's not gonna flag every file it finds as a virus.
Also, on a lot of systems I've used, AVG seems to slow down the system's performance during a scan. It got to be so bad on my girlfriend's machine that I had to stop the scan, reboot and try it again. Hey if you AVG users like it that's certainly fine. All Bruce and I are saying is that we wouldn't use it. So I'm not saying you shouldn't. i'm saying i wouldn't. Yep, AVG is certainly screenreader friendly, that's for sure. But it definitely rates lower. It even missed a couple of infected files that NOD 32 found so I'm awfully glad I switched.

Bruce: I have run AVG for 2 and a half years on my current computer. After hearing you and some others say it was not reliable I decided to make sure I was clean. I uninstalled AVG, installed Nod 32 and did a scan, the computer was clean. I also tried Trend Micro which I can get free from the university where I teach, it indicated my computer is clean. I went back to AVG. Can you substantiate the claims you have been making against AVG?
