Don't shut this list down !

Purpose of THIS forum (the way I see it):

#1. The main purpose of this forum is to help users to solve software
related problems as quickly and painlessly as possible.

#2. Comes from #1.
The forum should be easily and painlessly accessible for the users. I
hate using logins/passwords when it comes to accessing information on a
web. I don't want to spend 30 minutes browsing through tons of web pages
just to be able to see what was posted and trying to figure out what is
new and what is old.

#3. Comes from #1 and #2
A user should be able to post a message so that as many users as
possible would see it. This improves my chances of getting a quick
answer. In the web-based forum, a user would have click on the right set
of links to get to the page with my message. What are the chances of
that happening?

#4. Comes from #3
A user should be able to reply to a question as painlessly as possible.
To reply to a question on the existing forum I just hit reply button. On
the new forum, I would have to open a browser, go to the website, find a
link to the forum, navigate to the right discussion category, find the
message, be prompted to login (what was my password?)...

FYI, the browser will remember your login until you clear the cookies.

I look at icu-pcb-forum every time I check my email. All of the latest
forum messages are right there highlighted in bold. If I find something
useful, I drag-and-drop that message into "useful tricks" folder. If it
is something I know a solution for, I hit REPLY, type my suggestion, and
hit SEND. Otherwise, I delete a message. That is it and nothing else.

Dear Cadence people,

PLEASE, DO NOT MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR THE USERS TO USER YOUR TOOLS.

One of the reason this forum was created is because the too many
features in that software are not intuitive. Users are forces to browse
through tons of PDF files with documentation/or sourcelink database in a
hope to find a solution, or go to this forum, post a message and get an
answer withing 10-15 minutes.

Please don't replace this forum with a Rube-Golberg-machine-like web forum.

Thank you for reading my message,
