It's your choice ultimately, but it would be nice to know why io.js would
be better than alternatives (I can think of perl, python, lua, bash, ruby
1.8, yab, C, C++ which are known to work in Haiku - there are possibly
more, and not all of them would be good choices). Why would io.js be a
better choice? Has it big enough advantages for this project that justify
spending time on getting it to run?

There is also the issue of long term maintance and development, how
familiar are other developers with node.js ? For the sake of
sustainability, there should be someone else who could take up the slack if
the need arises.

Also since io.js and node.js are merging back together again [1], wouldn't
it make sense to use the standard version of node.js that has already had
some work done towards porting it? (which will later become the LTS version
of node.js)
