Thank you for the clarification. I did write to Pat directly about this
after Jim's interview and got no response whatsoever. However, it would
still be a nice outreach or inclusion effort on the part of Bookshare to
ante up for a transcription of an interview if a volunteer or member
requests it. It could easily be on a "By Request Only" basis, which is often
how smaller events advertise about sign language interpreters. But because
they have to found and contracted for a real-time job, there's usually a
deadline 2 weeks prior to the event. This wouldn't require that as the
interviews are archived. And it wouldn't have to be a person in the same
place as the archives, it could be a service located anywhere.

I'm not going to get nasty about this, I just wish... As when someone made a
reference to Jim's interview again recently, I wish I could access it.

Hi Tina, and Liz,

Just wanted to let you guys know that the Friends of
Bookshare and the activities that it sponsors are not directly
affiliated with, or under the umbrella of Bookshare. Friends of
Bookshare is an entity in itself, and Bookshare isn't in charge of
the content. I think the goal of the Friends of Bookshare was to
increase knowledge of Bookshare. But Bookshare is not in control of
its content. If you want to talk to the powers that be about this,
Pat Price is the head of Friends of Bookshare. Her e-mail address is
pat@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Peace,
Mayrie
