Quicker and easier to use a standard audio editor and a stereo machine, and in that way you reverse the right channel, record at 44,100 sampling rate, down sample to 22,050Hz, and bingo, 4 tracks in one quarter of the recording time. If your stereo cassette deck auto reverses, all the better, you can record an 8 side book in a little less than 3 hours. Processing time isn't prohibitive, and you'll have a nice book to add to your personal collection.

Subject: [blindreplay] TALKING BOOKS?

HI,

Has anyone tried recording from a cassette rocorder through Replay AV?

I was thinking of trying to do this so my books would end up as MP3 files I could play on my media player.

I'm wondering if anyone has done this, so I might have an idea how to input time elements to seperate chapters, and to figure out how long to set the timer to record one side of a book and then stop.

Thanks,
Robin
