I suspect that this is well-tracked by staff. If I have any doubt about whther I can do a good job, I reject a book. I've had instances where two or tree in a row had work that could be done with the print copy, to which I didn't have access.
My belief, (Hope?) is that most people are pretty reputable, and if they aren't, it's up to the staff to deal with them. The more rules and regulations we put into effect, the harder it will be to volunteer.
Just my two cents. Please understand my appreciating volunteering. I too do not particularly think a person needs to become a member to be able to volunteer as long as he or she actually does submit or validate rather than using the step 1 list in the way I previously described. It is the possible miss-use of step 1 I want to track. I want some way to make volunteers who are new feel welcome and trusted and want some way to slow down the thing where a book gets taken over and over but never validated. If I have hurt or upset anyone I truly apologize. To unsubscribe from this list send a blank Email to bksvol-discuss-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxxput the word 'unsubscribe' by itself in the subject line.
