There are times when the submitter might not want the identity known, for example some of the alternative lifestyles books or porn. But the number idea would take care of that. It's great.

I think that's a good idea. I think maybe not all volunteers realize the value of identification and just are afraid of getting too much mail or spam or losing privacy. I felt that way at the beginning, and so did someone else on the list, I don't remember who. It was after some discussion here that I realized why identification was necessary and I changed my profile. Perhaps in the next newsletter that goes out to everyone, or somewhere in the instructions that go out to volunteers strong encouragement to allow identification and an explanation of the need for it can be given. I respect the volunteer's need to remain anonymous though I frankly fail to quite understand the need. But i am sure I do need things others do not understand. What about giving each "bookshare volunteer" a number. So there might be "bv1" "bv75" and so on. Then feedback can be addressed to say, bv65. Or I might realize that I like the books bv115 scans. I Might decide the books bv110 scans have the same kind of scanos time after time. I can then decide if I want to validate the scans of a particular bookshare volunteer. We validators have favorite submitters. We often work in pairs (a submitter and a validator) to make a book come out beautifully. E.
