Yesterday I watched a male Northern parula taking a bath in a stream at
the edge of a woodland near our house. Not at all rattled by my
presence, he finished his bath, flew to a perch on a low branch and
groomed his feathers. For me this was a rare intimate look at a
beautiful bird.
