Went out birding in the Lexington Cemetery and Masterson Station Park on Sunday, June 15. Primarily common species at the cemetery with the exception of a small cluster of cedar waxwings feeding in a black locust tree and a Cooper's hawk perched in a tall oak tree near the cemetery entrance off of Leestown Rd. The park was full of activity between meadowlarks and bobolinks flying up and down out of the tall grass. Also saw what I think was a savannah sparrow. Does this sound like an accurate report for this time of year and this location. Appreciate any comments and good birding to all!! Michael Kenawell Biologist T.H.E.
