Hello all, Finally got my RoseBreasted Grosbeaks down on our farm on Owenton. Yeah. Other highlights: Blue Grosbeak Indigo Buntings Eastern Blue's (one box with hatchlings and one box with 5 eggs) Blue Gray Gnatcatcher's Found nest of one pair! Eastern Wood PeeWee 2 Scarlet Tanangers Baltimore Oriole Eastern Kingbirds Black and White Warbler Northern Parulas all over My highlight: Scarlet Tananger and Indigo bunting in same binocular view! Awsome My fathers highlight: Calling in two tom turkeys. We had heard a tom gobbling for about an hour and as we finally spotted them feeding, my dad tried to imitate a female. It didn't take much for both toms to check us out, one Tom in full display. They approached us to about 35 feet and veered off up the hill when we didn't pass muster. I didn't realize male turkeys hung out together like that. I suppose one was the dominant male and the other a first year male? Could that be right? My father told me that that was a once in a lifetime treat. Cool. Beautiful day in Owenton, Owen cty, KY Mandy Erlanger, KY
