Hello, There has been a bird visit my yard 4 or 5 times that I've seen in the past 3 weeks. The first time I saw it was up pretty close as I was coming around the corner into my dining room and it was right outside the patio door, but as soon as it saw my movement it took off. It was the color of an orange tabby cat, solid on top and the breast was a creamy beige color with brownish spots. The feathers looked soft like an owl, but it was not an owl. It was about the same size as a robin. Every time I've seen it and it notices any movement it takes off very quickly and I can't follow it. I've looked and the closet thing I've seen to what it looks like is a veery, but the pictures I've seen do not have the right color. This bird was more striking orange-brown like an orange tabby cat. Also the veery seems a bit small compared to this bird. Does anyone have any idea what kind of bird this may be? I live in the city limits in Lexington, KY and have been here for over 15 years and have never seen this type of bird before.
