I am curious about the same thing! My boys and I have been looking up the
birds we see online, listening to their calls, and drawing pics of them.
Very old school Audubon style. We have been doing this every few days for
the past three weeks or so.
Yesterday my 10 y.o. recognized a tufted titmouse by it's call ("Peter
peter peter") while we were hiking at Charlestown State Park. We also
discussed whether we were seeing eagles or hawks circle overhead at one
point. My 8 y.o. knew the Carolina chickadee we spotted, as well.
But if there were some kind of book for young birders, that would be a
great help, as well.
