In 2006, I went up to Oklahoma to get checked out as Armadillo's X PRIZE
Safety Officer. Good flight, and we had dinner afterwards at a barbecue
place they knew.
"So where you guys headed after X PRIZE Cup?"
"We're going to do some flights out of Spaceport America."
"You can't fly out of Spaceport America, they haven't built the runway yet."
"Randall, we don't *need* a runway."
"OK, fine, verticals can fly places horizontals can't."
"Can we have that in writing?"
"NO."
