When I use :dispwin myCalibration.calI get no message of any kind after executing. It just returns to the shell prompt. If I use :
Right. You've told it to load the calibration by supplying the calibration file argument. By default it is not verbose.
dispwin -v myCalibration.calI get the usual:About to open dispwin object on display About to set calibration About to destroy dispwin object
Right. You've turned verbosity on using the -v flag. By supplying the calibration argument you've told it to load it into the Video LUTs.
Should I be getting some sort of positive confirmation that myCalibration was actually downloaded to the video LUT?
Only if you turn on verbosity. You don't appear to be using the Beta8, as it will give messages like: About to set given calibration Calibration set
This being said, I remember we had the discussion regarding confirmation of CAL file actually downloaded into the video LUT. When I run the -V parameter with the name of the ICC profile as the last parameter on the command line, as prescribed in the usage, should I be getting some sort of "report"? Like Lars :
Yes, and I added such a message - the "Calibration set" message above.
dispwin -V myProfile.icc Verify: 'myProfile.icc' IS loaded (discrepancy 0.0%)
Yes, Beta 8 will report something like either: Verify: 'profile.icm' IS loaded (discrepancy 0.0%) or Verify: 'profile.icm' is NOT loaded (discrepancy 4.5%)
When I type dispwin alone, no parameter, I get :
Right, but to invoke usage you do something like dispwin -? See the first page of the documentation under "Main Utilities and the command line". I would suspect that you are using an old version, pre the verify option, and the -V is being interpreted as -v, verbose. Graeme Gill.
