Maybe someone else who runs Eye One Match on a Mac can comment on
whether Argyll can see their instrument ?

Of course only one application / driver can access the instrument at the same time. As long as e.g. eye-one match runs and uses the instrument, argyll or any other application has no access to the instrument.

There were some issues with old Gretag drivers that didn't release the instrument after quiting, but with up-to-date drivers this should be no problem.

Even with these old drivers, the instrument should work with argyll immediately after reboot (before any other application tried to access the Instrument).

Yes, this is the behavior: immediately after reboot "spotread -?" tells: 1 = 'usb:/bus93/dev0 (GretagMacbeth i1 Pro)'
after a while: ** No ports found **

Before I have delete the application dir and reinstall the last version of Match (3.6.2).

?!?
