what instruments or serial ports does it list ?

If it just lists

  ** No ports found **

after -c, then this means that there are no USB instruments that Argyll recognizes plugged in, and that there are no serial ports on the computer.

Is your instrument a rev. B ?

Are you running any other software on that computer that accesses the
instrument, and if so what ? Does it successfully see the instrument ?


Yes, Eye One Match drives the instruments correctly



Is the instrument plugged into the computer directly, or is it via some
sort of hub or via a keyboard or display ?


No, plugged directly
