All of the following tests were run on an Intel P4-1.5ghz machine.

DOS == OpenDos v7.01
Linux == SlackWare v12.2 running the 2.6.27.7-spm kernel

Startup temps booted to Linux....

CPU Temp: +98.6°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +86.0°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)

After 40 min of Linux usage running Xserver, mozilla,
viewing portions of several streaming videos
some with mplayer plugin, some with flashvideo plugin....

CPU Temp: +118.4°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +107.6°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)

Rebooted to DOS & loaded the dosidle.exe TSR
left machine running unattended at DOS command prompt for 20 min.

Rebooted to Linux to check the new temps....

CPU Temp: +123.8°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +109.4°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)

Rebooted to DOS but did not load the dosidle.exe TSR
left machine running unattended at DOS command prompt for 20min.

Rebooted to Linux to check the new temps.....

CPU Temp: +125.6°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +111.2°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)

Remained in Linux with machine running unattended at Linux CLI for 20min.

CPU Temp: +109.4°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +102.2°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)

Powered-down and waited 20min

Powered-up and booted into Linux to get new temps....

CPU Temp: +109.4°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +95.0°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)

Rebooted to DOS and ran Arachne for 20min doing several large downloads

Rebooted to Linux to check new temps....

CPU Temp: +125.6°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
M/B Temp: +111.2°F (low = +32.0°F, high = +260.6°F)
