Plus total directories 3,045, making nearly 17,000 files+directories.

On my FAT16 disk, the allocation units are 32,768 bytes. So those files
would occupy a minimum of 557,000,000 bytes. More if many of the files
were > 32k.

It is interesting to compare that figure with the free space before the
installation. I did this with the FAT32 install and found it took up
just under 200 megs. Since the AUs were 4096 bytes, that is quite
reasonable.
