23 Birders gathered for this morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk.
We sighted 47 species in warm, cloudy, humid conditions. The special
highlights today included a pair of Belted Kingfishers, a juvenile Orchard
Oriole rummaging in the brush directly in front of the tower, and a
Ruby-throated Hummingbird that has, for the past several weeks, perched on the
top of a young Sweet Gum tree just even with the tower platform allowing some
great "photo-Ops". It's as if this bird appears just as the majority of the
group is in audience for him. The construction of the wetland renovation
project continues.

The Monday Morning Birdwalk has been a weekly event at Huntley Meadows since
1985. It takes place every week, rain or shine, at 7AM (8AM from November
through March), is free of charge, requires no reservation, and is open to all.
Birders meet in the parking lot at the Park's entrance at 3701 Lockheed Blvd,
