Huntley Meadows lived up to its birders Hot-Spot reputation today, as 19
birders tallied 72 species. It was one of the best days we have had in a long
while. Highlights included 8 species of shorebirds, a Yellow-Throated Vireo,
lingering Blue-Winged and Green-Winged Teals, a Sora, and 6 species of
warblers. The unsurpassed of these highlights, however, were long, dazzling
views of a Blackburnian Warbler in the tree line on the north side of the
boardwalk before the loop. An absolutely stunning bird!
