This morning's Huntley Meadows Monday Morning Birdwalk brought out 16 birders
who listed 50 species. The temperature was in the comfortable 70s, but heavy
humidity dominated the weather. Highlights included a heard but not seen
Barred Owl, the large group of Eastern Kingbirds we reported last week, and a
couple of this reporter's favorites, Wood Thrushes. My thanks to Nancy Vehrs
for filling in for me while I attended a meeting. The meeting was successful,
but not nearly as satisfying as a birdwalk.
