[THIN] Re: Running Applications in Citrix vs Bare TS

When you say you updated your drivers ... do you mean on the clients? Or did
you somehow add them to the server?

I'm with you on that.. Since HP had their big printer blitz, we updated the=
 drivers here for our models, LJ4000, 5000, 8100, 4500, 4600 and a DJ850C, =
we've not had a (*looks at the servers at the corner of his eye*) bsod sinc=
e!

HP are in our good books :)

I don't know which drivers you are using. I run native HP PS drivers.
We use all HP printers. Like the 4L, 4050, 4100, 4200, 4500, 4550,
5000, 8000 and 8150. We have business Inkjets 2200 and 2600. We run
personal Inkjets 890, 932, 960, and 1100.
HP did have a lot of printers that were never meant to be on a network
like the 700 series, but that was way before Carly took over.
YMMV, those are just my results with several different builds and
versions from MF 1.8 to XP.

Don't know what world you are living in there Jeff but everytime we get
a
new model HP printer here put on a workstation on our network it is a
living
hell. Citrix servers start blue screening and rebooting etc etc. All
because
of a printer.

I haven't had a problem with an HP driver on Citrix since Carly Fiorino
took over. HP did a big press release about her, which included her
e-mail address. The address was posted on this list. Within the week,
she had received hundreds of e-mails about HP drivers. Within 2 months,
I had working HP drivers for any HP printer I had then or have used
since.
I still stay away from PCL drivers, because they are evil.

You mean like HP, a multi-billion dollar international company that
can't
write print drivers?

Can you even believe that an app vendor would tell you that they don't
support their app on Citrix/TS? When I hear that (and I've heard it a =3D
=3D3D
=3D3D3D
bunch
of times over the years), it makes me feel like the vendor is just =3D3D3D
ignorant.
How can you ignore a technology that is so widely used? Ensuring that an
=3D3D3D
app
runs properly under TS is trivial. I hope the market's natural selection
process takes care of companies like that.=3D3D3D20
