Another two bits of thoughts;
Gary, your absolutely right when you say that there would be some that would
not take advantage of the yearly fee; To answer that would be a per item
charge which would be legit anyway because in the fact that it still is
going to the clearing house royalty fund. The copyrights issue would be
taken care as the royalties would be paid to the individual company
respectively.

Ed; What I was trying to convey was the fee would cover having a part time
staff to handle some of this work load. Another way to over come the work
load of 32 hours per day was for more volunteers. For example: If you had
several cd disc of Daewoo in your library and wanted to 'donate' them to
Techassist clearing house or however what way it can work.

One of the thing this whole thought was for was for us to be able to get the
prints faster than waiting a week or two for the local warehouse to send us
a print. I guess there are times that it would be nice to 'ring' the
computer and see what print was available and get it in the same hour or
day. I have a friend in Minnesota that is in the trucking business. He
came up with a 24 hour computer hotline for truckers that break down.
Apparently on new trucks there are computer ports that can hook up over the
phone and the main clearing house is able to get the truck diagnostics and
tell the driver what to do to get the rig running well enough to get to a
repair place. This programming, clearing house and the efforts of this
individual required only the initial efforts and the computer repair center
handles the billing, diagnostics, further diagnostics all through the day
with very little hands on. This service saves the trucker from expensive
towing of their rigs, unless of course, it absolutely needs the tow. An
average charge for this service is 275 dollars.
Some of you guys are computer literate to the nth degree and could do this
type of stuff in your sleep.
I'm looking for solutions, not obstacles.
my two bits
