Also, with "copy" and paste, you can paste the text repeatedly. In-other-words, 
if you do most of your
email at once, you can copy the text once, and press "ctrl-v" after typing each 
message and the signature
appears.

Technically speaking, cut and paste is different than copy and paste.
With cutting, you remove what you highlight and paste it in another
place. Copying on the other hand, leaves what you highlight in place and
enables pasting to another place.
