Dear All. This old chestnut has cropped up again. East Sussex CC have recently converted a pelican crossing to a puffin. So "what's new" I hear you say. This time its outside a secondary school with 1200 pupils. The headmaster is none to pleased because at 3 o'clock hundreds of kids attempt to use the crossing and they cannot see the nearside indicator. We have installed a second unit above the original, but he's still not happy. Whilst I tend to agree with his point of view I am not sure what else we can do. Any ideas would be welcome. My question is: Has anybody had a similar experience, particularly outside a school. If so, what else can we do the help? Has anybody used far side indicators on a puffin and do you require GOSE authorisation? Your comments would be very much appreciated.
