Following several recent enquiries from other traffic signal authorities
about some special ('aesthetically pleasing') Mast Arms that we had made up
by a street lighting manufacturer for a high profile city centre scheme -
the lack of a downloadable facility to communicate photos with other TCUG
contacts has come to light. I understand that this is not available on the
freelists facility.
I have therefore (experimentally?) set up an on-line storage area on the
'Yahoo briefcases' website for this purpose - under the name tcuguk. This
allows 30mb of (free) storage - though of course you have to tolerate the
inevitable advertising alongside the photos you are looking for.
This has been set up for anyone to access photos (though not at full
resolution) - without having to sign in. You can do this by checking:
http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/tcuguk
I have put on the photos of the mast arms in question - as an example (we
aren't sponsored by the manufacturer, I promise!)
However if anyone else has any particularly interesting Traffic Signal
related photos that they would like to share with other users, please
contact me and I can advise you how to put them on the web site.
Additionally I believe that it is possible to add other types of information
- so if you want to share your specifications, standard details, meeting
programmes or whatever - that may also be possible (non-commercial use only
please!). Any thoughts on further uses for this?
