Technically, I believe it is 3/32". Just shy of 1/8".

Shirley: I have done several of them from 5X5 sheets of birch veneer that the
cabinet builders use and I sure thought it was 1/8th.  Still have some scraps
laying around as well as the panels on the bus.  Next time I get a chance I
will measure their thickness.  Most good lumberyards/building supply places
carry the birch in 5X5 sheets.  Unfortunately that does not work for the side
panel on the driver's side since it is longer than 5'.  You can splice it under
the area of the table and it is not too noticeable; or you can use a 4X8 sheet
and then the grain runs the wrong way.

the panels on the cargo doors gor 65 westy . Tried 1/8 but too thick. Believe
from home depot, birch panels but 1/8 not 1/16.  Looking for shop/store that
has 1/16?
Local?
