My soap tends to be somewhat conceptual scentwise so I like the colour to reflect the concept as well. I hate mixing my powdered colour so will be moving to liquid colours ASAP. It is also a bit of a trick knowing which scents discolour the soap and working the colour appropriately. My latest has to be the ugliest soap ever. The oakmoss turned to soap really brown and it was coloured yellow with purple swirls (my blue lake colour turns purple in CP soap!) so now it is a really horrible yellowish brown with flashes of purple. Smells great though :-) Ross -----Original Message----- From: soapcraft-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:soapcraft-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Gina Roberts Sent: Thursday, 7 January 2010 1:50 p.m. To: soapcraft@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [soapcraft] Colour Very cool Ross. You are on to the colouring. To be honest I really struggle with colouring. I just can't ever seem to get what I really want. Some people are opposed to dyes but I like working with them. I discovered in the early days that the customer didnt want the same coloured soap even if you had used different ingrediants.......so hence the colour and a balance between natural and not so natural. Though thats another debatable topic.
