i really don't think anyone was trying to infer that we are "stupid" re the
cover of the august review. if i remember correctly, this same bitch (and
same photo) was pictured on last year's cover as top living ROM dam. i
think susan probably chose to change the background on the photo - i know
that i would have done the same for a number of reasons, not the least of
which would be that it differentiated this year's issue from last year's -
would be very easy, sometime down the road, to think you had a dupe and toss
one if the photos were identical. the bitch, herself, does not appear to be
retouched in any way - it's just a change in background.
photoshop is an excellent tool when used ethically. people change the
backgrounds on their ads all the time and, as long as the dog remains true, i
don't think there's a problem. many years ago, kristine and i had belle
starr on the cover of the GSD times - the photo of the bitch was beautiful
but the background was hideous ... cars, tents, chairs, people, crates etc -
all the "junk" you see at a show. well, we wiped it all out, put in a
lovely grassy knoll and ran it that way - lol, you could actually see the dog!
i don't have my September review yet so don't know about which ads you are
speaking - hopefully, the dogs are "real" and that's all that matters.
