I got an email this evening from a Sheltie breeder with whom I've been having a conversation about dog foods-- she just stopped feeding a lamb and rice product. I asked her whyshe'd stopped...I've always thought lamb and rice was really not a great idea, but I thought it was because I'd been told dogs don't really handle lamb well... guess I had the right idea but the wrong reason. She told me she'd been told not to feed a lamb and rice product to healthy dogs because lamb and rice is what they would be switched to if they developed any allergies or stomach problems...and if they were already eating it, there'd be nothing to change to!!! Interesting thought, no? ============================================================================ POST is Copyrighted 2005.
