In no way did I cast dispersion on Nancy or any of her crew re the dinner.
Quite to the contrary and I place any deserved blame on the caterer.
As I mentioned...I heard Nancy and Aaron coordinating the dinner as things
were coming to a close after judging. The caterer assured them all was as it
should be and would go off well.
Sadly it did not. I am also sure that when the caterer pitched the menu to
the Board it was 90% better than it ended up. You can only rely on the
proposal and hope the rest goes well. Joan also mentioned the arena changed
caterers or something like that.
Since I posted on this subject...I have received several post from
experienced people who would make a damn fine committee and quite possibley
keep peoples feet to the fire in future dinners.
However...I don't want to step on anyone's toes and will tread softly and
offer help if it is needed. Like I posted earlier...it's a matter of choice
when it comes to the type of dinner we want. I we want the dress up Pomp &
Circumstance kinda dinner...I'm all for that, too. BBQ also rings true and
would be a whole lot easier.
It's YOUR PClub and all you need do is relate your requests to YOUR Board
and if it's doable...it can be done. (Could those be famous last words?)
