I have never run into a "sitting fee", but $28 for an 8 x 10 is
reasonable and within what most show photographers charge. I think it
is a good idea, at least the photographer gets paid for his/her time
involved.
Photography is my hobby. My very expensive hobby. If I sell a few
pictures, I don't figure I am making any profit at all. Wedding
photographers make money, dog show photographers, not so much. You
have to love it.
