We see the spooks all the time out here, Carolyn.
Dogs that are nervous, roll their eyes...at one specialty a puppy
refused to be examined on first look...Came back spooky still but
could be touched....incredibly was given a first. About a month prior to
that watched (and smelled) a puppy blow it's mind and it's anal glands in
the ring..
it was also put up, and it was ridiculous.
The Standard is very clear "MUST APPEAR CONFIDENT AT ALL TIMES" that also
includes dogs that are going ballistic b/c mommy or daddy are over doubling
or the dog
is just plain ole nervous , neurotic/ dependent.
Just love it when you walk past one out side the ring too, that isn't
being doubled and they
climb into a tree or shrink behind the owner....
BLEH!!!!!!!!
But we see it. Every specialty and the judges that overlook it or just
don't care.
Can't speak for the rest of the country.
