Whoh, Sarah ! Now you're sounding like one of those interested only in winning,
not
what is best for the breed. Don't go there. Always strive for the best, what
is best for
the breed, not merely the fleeting glory of a win.

That's intriguing. As a newbie, I feel I might have a better shot in all-breed
because the judges don't really follow the breed closely (owners, handlers,
breeders). But, I guess it could work the opposite where they don't know the
breed so just put up the face.
I am more worried about the specialty ring. As a new person looking in from the
outside, it seems weird to me that board members, judges, and breeders all
intermingle with their dogs. How does that not create a conflict of interest?
The circle is so small that they must all become interconnected. With human
nature, how does one avoid creating a conflict of interest?
Are there rules in place like:
Specialty judges cannot be breeders for at least 5 years or
Specialty breeders cannot judge a dog they have sold in the last 12 months or
Specialty judges cannot judge a dog that they co-own
Or anything like that?
