I think you are right about the fact that we now know instantly when a dog dies
we also can spread rumors like a wild fire. Wouldn't it be wonderful if there
was a place you could go to list your dogs passing with pedigree, reason for
death and age. We would learn so much. We have the 13 club but where is a list
of those dogs that made it? Best kept secret of Parent Club. I don't bother to
apply for a certificate. I know how long my dogs have lived. I have one now
that is 14.4 years. Most of the dogs that I bred using those blood lines made
it to 13. No illness to speak of they just seem to run down like an old clock.
If you talk dogs with folks in the conformation ring age span is the least
important thing. They are much more impressed with wins than with life span.
we are getting what we bred for. Finished by 2 years and dead by 7.
