BUT, if the puppy owner has NO INTEREST in breeding, showing or AKC, why should
they have to pay the fees. Many work their dogs in other groups beside AKC,
maybe AKC should look at itself and its expenditures!!

Interesting you should point out the number of companion puppies not
registered. We have been discussing that on Showdals too. If you saw the numbers
of pups who are responsibly bred, spayed/neutered and NOT registered although
people have the registrations - it is actually a very scarey future for the
AKC....
Maybe we should ALL get in the habit of registering pups before they go to new
homes or at least follow up with puppy buyers to make sure it is done... We
might only be a small percentage, but if everyone would make sure their pets are
registered, it would go aways to help the AKC coffers so they don't have to
go alternate routes and alienate all of us who rely on them!
