My vet in Canada would come to the house when asked, anytime. Besides
giving rabies and putting dogs down at home, I recall her coming at 4 AM with
a portable xray machine....and we did a surgery on my dining room table
once in the middle of the night. She was also a large animal vet too so had
everything needed in her truck just in case.
Have not found it here. Clinic vets are too busy to go anywhere, and
after hours, none of them work. It is all turned over to the emergency clinic.
The only exception is my repo vet in Houston. They give you a pager
number and if you have a middle of the night emergency with a pregnant bitch,
they will come to the clinic to do a section, or whatever.
The "good ol days" were so comforting!
