My pups do not go the vet for their first shots. Many years ago, I did this
with every litter, until one litter got Parvo after the trip to the vet's
office. I now give all my puppy vaccines and worming. I don't let pups go to
their new homes until 10weeks old. The first shots are at 6wks, second at 9wks
and first vet visit at least 72hrs after 2nd vaccine. My vet charges me $50.00
office visit and $7.00/pup for exam. This works well for me as the pups are
examined by my vet within a couple days of going to their new home and the new
owner and their vet know this pup is healthy when they take them.

y vet does a thorough physical before giving the shot, and has found
ther problems a couple of times. These findings ended up saving me a
undle of money. He does not charge for an office visit for this shot.
