Personally, my vet comes to my house at +/- 6 weeks. The last place I
want a puppy who isn't fully immunized is a vet's office. (Call me anal, it
won't hurt my feelings). In fact, she MUST come first thing, directly from
her house before she'd have a chance to be in contact w/ a sick animal/
(Again...call me anal).
She writes a health certificate on EVERY animal. This protects both me
and the prospective buyer.
I still do my own shots.

My vet does a thorough physical before giving the shot, and has found
other problems a couple of times. These findings ended up saving me a
bundle of money. He does not charge for an office visit for this shot.
