Until you spend a lot of time with other breeds you don't realize how special
our GSDs' memories are. Other breeds don't remember the way our dogs do.
Trust me. Some of my clients will remember me, for better or for worse, but
most, after a year or so don't know me from the rest of the crowd.
I worked with a dog this weekend that I know can't remember much, only what
she does repeatedly. This can make change harder. She is wired to do the
things she does, and to rewire her will take her owner being very consistent
about new expectations. But if they do the work this dog will be "fixed" in a
month.
