When people stay the night they become members of your pack. That is what got
Bertha out of her worst agression when i got her back, a dear friend came to
stay about 2 weeks. She has lived with us in the past. Bertha saw she had
moved in and that was that. She loves Neris now and Neris can come and go no
matter how long between visits.
We are expecting her in the next few months for a few days.

A shepherd I had years ago was very much a guard dog and would bark at
anyone that came to the door unless I was home or outside. (She was not able
to get at them behind a fence ). As soon as I came out and accepted them it
was ok.But she would do the same thing with that person everytime UNLESS you
had stayed the night in my house. Then you were fine from then on. And that
is if you only came to visit once a year too. So she definetly remembered
you because if you came a year later she didnt bark at you. Yet the next
door neighbour would get barked at whenever he came over. My ex used to say
if the neighbour ever comes over and she doesnt bark at him I will know what
has happened if I have been away . lol lol But I dont think there is anyway
to explain that except memory. Anyone have ideas on that?
